Many use suicide as a way to stop the pain...even among Christians; as we have one of the highest suicide rates among organized religions. Why is that? Does the church do enough to address their members with depression, bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia, and other mental and spiritual disorders that lead to suicide? The death of Whitney Houston overshadowed the planned topic of Black History month or the lack thereof that we wanted to discuss. However our guest was good enough to point out the major contributions of African American inventors and pioneers.

African Americans have a rich and deep American History that should never be forgotten; to the marvelous talents of Whitney and Micheal...to the prolific words of Martin & Malcolm on social equality. Films like "Roots" and St. Louis' own gospel documentary "Say Amen Somebody" unfortunately are not shown to the current generation so its place in their history is lost on them.

That's why it's up to us to keep it 100 about our history...because black history truly is American history!

The Rescued Crew celebrate their first year in ministry today by doing what they do best...keepin' it 100! Youth are hurting and confused due to life's issues and there are many things the pulpit doesn't address.
